The availability, accuracy, and relevance of impact methodologies are critical components to TSC’s mission to develop and promote science and integrated tools that improve informed decision making for product sustainability. For several impact categories, regional specificity is critical to have the most accurate and relevant information to base decisions on. However, such regional specific is not commonly available in terms of methodologies or data. To enhance the currents science and tools, The Sustainability Consortium is executing a research contract with the University of Michigan to develop regionalized impact methods, specifically led by Dr. Olivier Joilliet, professor at U of M and recognized researcher in environmental risk and impacts.
