green-week

June 12th, 2012 – TSC was invited to present to employees, subcontractors and partners this week at Skanska’s annual organization wide Green Week Conference. In an effort to achieve their core values through their Five Zero Vision, Skanska holds a Green Week every year to create awareness within the organization about the importance of running sustainable and green projects as well as communicate green initiatives, projects and tools that help Skanska achieve a better environmental performance in their projects and office activities.

Marco Ugarte, Research & Business Development Manager at TSC presented information on The Consortium, its Knowledge Products and possible opportunities in the construction industry. “Global construction industry presents a unique opportunity to develop and implement comprehensive sustainability practices. Rapid urbanization of the planet has been occurring at an unprecedented pace resulting in 80 million new urban dwellers every year during a transition that is allowing humans to truly live in an urban society for the first time in history. Latin America recently crossed this threshold and several countries in Asia and Africa are expected to contribute to this trend in the coming years. Anticipating infrastructural requirements based on sustainability imperatives can make the difference in contemporary supply networks encompassing industrial facilities, highways, residential, and commercial developments. We are pleased that a global leader in the construction industry allowed us to be part of their annual sustainability event,”

The presentation was broadcasted in three regions throughout the world, The United States, Latin America and Europe and attended by several senior managers and directors from Skanska.
