The Sustainability Consortium is pleased to welcome Mary VanLeer as our new Manager for the IT Standards & Tools Working Group. Ms. VanLeer will lead the group from TSC’s offices at the University of Arkansas.

Ms. VanLeer has over 30 years experience in defining, designing, and supporting IT solutions for high-end data center environments. She has held the positions of Director, Serviceability and Software Engineering at Sun Microsystems, Director of Engineering Operations at International Game Technology, and Director of Information Technology at the Arkansas Lottery Commission. In those positions, VanLeer introduced new verification methods to test the robustness of products’ system recovery capabilities and numerous initiatives in the quality efforts for Diagnosability, Serviceability, and Fault Management.

She has a passion for building and enhancing Systems Engineering capabilities through the creation of a structured competency management program and as a member of an elite team established the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge and a University Graduate Reference Curriculum. As an active member of the International Council on Systems Engineering, Ms. VanLeer advocates an Agile Systems Engineering set of disciplines without sacrificing the innovation style of today’s engineers.
