ARIZONA, USA, – February 20, 2013 – IFCO SYSTEMS, a global leader in Reusable Plastic Containers (RPCs), has joined The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) in the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture (FBA) Sector Working Group of the organization.
“We are thrilled to welcome IFCO Systems to The Sustainability Consortium as a new member,” said Dr. Sarah Lewis of the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture Sector of TSC. “IFCO’s experience in fresh product distribution methods will bring important perspectives to the work of the FBA Sector. We look forward to expanding our horizons together.”
IFCO is an international logistics service provider with more than 210 locations worldwide. IFCO RPCs are used primarily to transport fresh produce from growers to leading grocery retailers. In addition to greater product protection and lower supply chain costs, IFCO’s innovative containers also offer environmental benefits compared to traditional one-way packaging.

TSC’s Food, Beverage, and Agriculture Sector is the largest sector in TSC and home to other participants such as Kellogg’s, MillerCoors, and PepsiCo, Inc. In addition to contributing to the SMRS, the FBA Sector Working Group is also developing an innovation project around Commodity Mapping, biodiversity, and water usage.
