A draft of agricultural Sustainable Performance Indicators for Biodiversity will be presented for member input at the Food, Beverage and Agriculture Sector Meeting in London this month. The draft will be posted on workspace (FBA sector) prior to the meeting. Those not attending the meeting are encouraged to provide feedback to Dr. Christy Slay.
Dr. Slay participated in the Measurement Sciences Working Group’s Life Cycle Impact Assessment Committee meeting in Washington D.C., May 5-6. This group decided on current impact assessment methods for recommended use in baseline models. Land-use at the inventory level (sq meters of land used per year), was accepted as a interim measure until upcoming methodologies for assessing damage to ecosystem services and biodiversity are published by members of the UNEP-SETAC Life Cycle Initiative Land-use working group this summer.
