The Sustainability Consortium (TSC) welcomes Myriam Fessi as their new Science and Impact Manager, Durable Goods and Personal Care Products. Fessi joins TSC from TSC member Unilever, where she built her career for over 8 years in the personal care business. As part of the Science and Impact team, she will lead research and program activities in non-agricultural related sectors and will support THESIS, TSC’s independent, science-based, sustainability performance solution, to ensure global impact.
As technical project leader at Unilever, Fessi led and delivered innovation projects for established, billion-dollar brands as well as building new brands. In this role, she directed the Research and Development cross-functional team as well as partnering with other functions such as Marketing, Supply Chain and Procurement. Fessi was also instrumental in creating new diagnostics methods for Hair and Skin Care which resulted in four patents and a recommendation algorithm for a skin care brand.
“Myriam’s expert knowledge and impressive contributions to the personal care industry will be a huge asset to TSC’s offerings. Her enthusiasm and technical background will provide a welcome resource to TSC’s members in the non-agricultural sectors” stated Erin Killeen, TSC’s Director, Science and Impact. “We are thrilled to add her to our team and are excited for both our staff and members to benefit from Myriam’s sustainability leadership.”
In addition to her contributions at Unilever, Fessi holds a master’s degree in industrial chemistry from CPE Lyon, a French “Grande Ecole” with a specialization in Formulation.
Fessi will be based in Florida, where she enjoys fossil hunting at the beach and making jewelry from found shark teeth.
