ARIZONA, USA, – November 30th, 2012 – The Sustainability Consortium, a global multi-stakeholder organization developing science-based tools that advance the measurement and reporting of consumer product sustainability, is pleased to announce People 4 Earth (P4E) as a new member.

P4E is a global non-profit organization, headquartered in the Netherlands, that assists organizations in achieving more sustainable and socially just products and supply chains. P4E will be participating in the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture sector, TSC’s oldest and largest sector, owning 45 percent of the product categories being completed by TSC in 2012. We are excited about having P4E participate in the FBA sector – their expertise and experience will enhance the discussion and help clarify the role of sustainability and supply chains in the region,” said Dr. Sarah Lewis, Working Group Director of the FBA Sector. TSC and People 4 Earth will collaborate on improving sustainability particularly in the agricultural supply chain. Both organizations are also committed to improving the social and environmental issues in the supply chain.

“We are working diligently to improve the coverage of social and environmental issues in our Knowledge Products both in the United States and around the globe. This has become a very important component of our work and it is extremely important to our members.”

“We are excited to work together with TSC as we can help TSC to provide tools for retailers and sourcing departments to assess the performance of their suppliers regarding a comprehensive set of social and environmental criteria and indicators,” said Nico Broersen, Director and Founder of People 4 Earth
