Scope 3 GHG emissions are those that occur in supply chain activities upstream or downstream from your company. For most companies, their Scope 3 emissions are larger than their Scope 1 and 2 emissions, so understanding Scope 3 emissions is necessary both to manage risks and opportunities. Investors and governments are beginning to require disclosure of Scope 3 emissions and risks. If you’re a supplier to another business like a retailer, it is likely that those customers will require disclosure of your Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
